Wood and Wood Products
Hickory and Oak Custom Sawmilling,LLC sells Great Lakes region native hardwood lumber. Most of the logs that we use come from salvaged trees that other wise would of been wasted. This includes storm downed trees, logs saved from firewood cutters and tree services. We specialize in salvaging and utilizing natural resources that others over look.Lumber offered includes Cherry, Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Hickory, Ash, Sassafras, Sycamore, Walnut, and poplar. The Oaks and Sycamore can also be bought quarter sawn.
We also have curly Maple, Walnut, Cherry sometimes available as well as other figured woods and turning blanks.
Most of our stock is 4/4 (1" thick) or 8/4 (2" thick) but we can special cut to just about any thickness. We can supply beams 4x4, 6x6 or about any size for that fire place mantle or special project.
We kiln dry all of our stock in one of our three dry kilns.

Book matched lumber and whole flitch sawn logs are also available.
Native hardwood flooring from 2 to 5.5" wide and many mouldings and trim can be specially made for your home projects. I feel that the special character these native wood products offer can't be beat by the massed produced stuff found in home improvement stores.

Hickory&Oak Sawmilling can custom saw your logs at our mill. We can also saw the type of lumber you want from one log and keep it in order so that you have perfectly book matched stock.Bring us your green or air dried lumber and we can kiln dry it to 6-7% moisture content and sterilize it by killing any potential wood eating bugs.
